Learn about our amazing Hauraki Gulf Marine Park on 27 October at the annual public seminar, organised by the Hauraki Gulf Forum.

Scientists, adventurers, kaitiaki (guardians) and thinkers will take you on a journey through the gulf via a series of short talks held at Auckland Museum.

The Hauraki Gulf Forum is supported by Auckland Council, and promotes the protection and enhancement of the marine park. It works with Waikato councils, central government and tangata whenua (people of the land).

Recent achievements include cargo ships slowing down around resident Bryde’s whales, fishing boat skippers becoming champions for the iconic black petrel, and the restoration of once-plentiful green-lipped mussel beds.

Be inspired by what’s happening around the gulf and learn how to play a part in its care and protection.
