Site works for a new world-class playground at Takapuna Beach Reserve will get underway in November.
Features of the new playground include a water play area, large wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round, all-abilities swings, a wheelchair-accessible trampoline, an all-abilities seesaw, climbing ropes, picnic tables, park benches, tower and slides, and much more.
“This new playground is great news for families right across the north shore,” says Local Board Chair Joseph Bergin.
“Santa has come this year in the form of Jackie Kerridge and Chris Reeve – passionate locals who have donated generously to make this playground a reality for local children.”
Earth works will take place in the southern end of the reserve in November, and are expected to be completed in early December.
The playground is expected to be completed and ready for use in February 2016.
