Henderson-Massey Local Board has provided funding for major upgrades to local community centres.
“It’s important that our communities have accessible, fitfor- purpose facilities,” says Brenda Brady, who holds the local board’s community facilities portfolio.
Ranui Community House
Ranui Community House, at 474 Swanson Road, is owned by Auckland Council and managed by Ranui Community House Incorporated. Improvements will include an upgrade to the house’s social enterprise community cafe and computer systems. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2015.
Massey Community House
Located at 385 Don Buck Road, Massey Community House is set for an upgrade. Construction will start after the Ranui Community House upgrade is complete so the two facilities are not out of use at the same time.
Te Atatū South Community Centre
Upgrades to the main kitchen, the storage areas and kitchenette of the activity room at the Te Atatū South Community Centre have recently been completed.
