Seven of the 10 signs that were stolen last week from the Avondale Central Reserve children’s Learn-to-Ride Track have been recovered in good condition.
A member of the public found the signs in the Avondale area and contacted council to return them.
“It’s wonderful that the signs have been found,” says Whau Local Board Chair Catherine Farmer.
“It’s even better that they are in great condition and can still be used, which will save us further expense. On behalf of our board and the local children, thank you to the person who arranged their return. We are very grateful.”
Auckland Council’s parks team will reinstall the signs soon and replace the three missing signs.
