A recent media report has included inaccurate references to Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development's (ATEED) budget.
In the 2014/15 financial year, ATEED’s audited total expenditure was $57.44 million as outlined in its annual report.
ATEED’s budgeted Auckland Council funding for the 2015/16 financial year is $50.3 million (the final revenue and expenses for the year will include corporate income).
“ATEED’s annual report 2014/15 details the impressive outcomes of ATEED’s economic growth programmes on behalf of Auckland Council,” said Steve Armitage, ATEED’s General Manager External Relations.
“Several hundred million dollars were injected into the regional economy – including the return on the Major Events Fund investments, and the attraction or expansion of multi-national businesses.”
ATEED is the economic growth agency for the Auckland region and is one of seven council-controlled organisations (CCOs).
