Play space set to make a splash
Albert-Eden Local Board member and parks portfolio lead Margi Watson at Waterview Reserve’s new play space.

Albert-Eden Local Board is providing a new play space at Waterview Reserve, with interactive water play, a playground waka, fale-inspired shade, a volleyball net, barbecues and drinking fountains.

“We are working with the Well Connected Alliance, the New Zealand Transport Agency and the community to build a great park,” says board member and parks portfolio lead Margi Watson.

Splash in the sun

“The water will be the perfect place for youngsters to cool off over summer, while the playground and courts provide a range of activities for people of all ages."

"The park also connects into a coastal walkway along Oakley Creek.”

More features coming 

In addition to the board’s contribution, NZTA is building a skate park, BMX track and basketball court, with other features to be built throughout 2016 and 2017.

The playground is set to open by mid-December.
