Signs are looking good for 2016
New signage being trialled on the Nelson Street Cycleway

Auckland Transport's Regional Signage Project is making good progress towards extending its signage trial in specific areas around Auckland.

The purpose of the project is to create consistent signage for all of Auckland to make it easier for everyone to get around, whether they’re walking, cycling, driving or using public transport.

After a considerable amount of research and consultation the next phase of trial signage is starting to appear.

Where will you notice changes?

  • Anyone who’s taken a ride along the Nelson Street Cycleway will have seen trial signage for cyclists.
  • If you catch the train on the Western Line, you will notice signage for train users is different at New Lynn, Fruitvale and Avondale stations.
  • Over the next few months, New Lynn and Northcote town centres will have new trial pedestrian signage along with trial street blade signage erected around those areas.
  • Keep an eye out in Wynyard Quarter for a further installation of trial signage in March and let the team know what you think.

Got feedback?

The project team would like as much feedback as possible from the trials. This will contribute towards a final signage approach for the region that is expected to be finalised later in 2016.

Feedback will be open until April and can be provided by emailing info@aucklandtransport.govt.nz. Please mention ‘Regional Signage’ in your subject line and reference which area and what kind of signage you are commenting on.
