I was asked to turn the sod for the opening of the Chinese New Settlers Services Trust housing project. Their apartments for elderly in the heart of Panmure are specialised and individualised and that’s precisely how we should handle housing needs in the city.
Lack of consultation within the process was the main reason there was negative publicity on the unitary plan of late and I voted to remove recent changes where affected homeowners were not directly notified.
I want to champion densification done right with tailored outcomes and always (always!) where residents have their say.
