Albert-Eden Local Board is thrilled to have signed off the designs and given the go-ahead for the Mt Albert Town Centre upgrade.
The board is seeking to bring forward $2.25 million of funding.
'Village feel' for Mt Albert
Chair Peter Haynes and deputy chair Glenda Fryer say the rejuvenation will provide an attractive, village feel to Mt Albert.
Public consultation in November 2015 showed 94 per cent of respondents supported the draft concept designs, but that more cycle lanes were needed.
“We revised the plans to include continuous cycle lanes through the town centre in response to the consultation,” says Peter Haynes.
