Upper Harbour residents will benefit from a community facility to be built in Albany later this year.
The new community hub will provide extra space for groups to run programmes and services alongside Albany House in Albany Domain.
The building will have a hall, several meeting rooms and a kitchen. Funding will also enable the car park to be expanded, and several other infrastructure upgrades to occur in Albany Domain.
Improving community facilities
Upper Harbour Local Board Chair Lisa Whyte says funding approval for the hub is great news.
“Upper Harbour is one of the fastest-growing areas in the country, so we need to improve and expand our community facilities,” she says.
“This is a priority project in our local board plan, so we can't wait to open it next summer.”
