Cycle data published by Auckland Transport shows that, for nine monitored sites around Auckland, there has been an increase of 15.1 per cent in cyclist movements in June 2016 compared to June 2015.
Almost a million cycle trips over past year
A total of 995,828 cycle trips were recorded for the year of July 2015 to June 2016.
This is an increase of 9.9 per cent on the previous year.
Strong patronage for Lightpath
There were more than 11,000 cycle journeys over Te Ara I Whiti – The Lightpath in June, and almost 30,000 cycle journeys along Tāmaki Drive.
