Since Saturday 23 July, Auckland Council staff have been reviewing the Independent Hearings Panel's recommendations on the proposed Auckland Unitary Plan so they can form an understanding of the changes that have been recommended.
This means that on Wednesday 27 July, staff can brief the councillors on the main topics and help them to understand the major policy shifts, and how to navigate the plan.
But how much of an understanding of the recommendations will we have once we brief councillors, the media and put the recommendations up on the council website on Wednesday?
Penny Pirrit, Director of Regulatory Services, and John Duguid, General Manager Plans and Places, provide an overview.
