Maybe it’s just a sign of modern times but the Independent Hearings Panel’s recommendations on the proposed Auckland Unitary Plan were not delivered in a stack of paper reports but within an ordinary USB data stick.
But this should not belie their significance. Because within the USB are the panel's recommended blueprint for managing Auckland's future growth over the next 30 years.
These recommendations set out the changes the panel considers should be made to the proposed Auckland Unitary Plan. They are based on over 13,000 submissions, 10,000 pieces of evidence and 249 days of hearings.
