The Point Chevalier Plaza upgrade is now complete.
The square’s slippery tiles have been replaced, the toilet is no longer the centrepiece of the square, and there is a larger space for public events. Innovative seating, landscaping and art have also been installed.
The plaza was opened on 2 July. The public enjoyed a sod turning, entertainment and delicious local food on the sunny winter’s day.
The revitalised plaza is another step towards making Albert-Eden a better place to live.
The upgrade comes after Pt Chevalier was identified as an area that will experience significant change over the next 30 years. It has also sparked renewal by businesses in the centre and will help them meet a challenging future.
