Swanson will soon see a large increase in population due to several new housing developments.
The Waitākere Ranges Local Board wants to help local businesses to prepare for and benefit from this growth.
The board would like to hear from business owners and operators, and managers of commercial property in Swanson to talk about the potential benefits of the impending growth.
It would like to ask businesses a few questions to understand what benefits they may see, how to capture these benefits and to see if there is potential to collaborate with other businesses or the board.
It also wants to connect Swanson businesses with existing sources of support and advice that council and others offer.
The local board has engaged economic development specialist Stephen Cavanagh from Mariposa Consulting to undertake this work. Local businesses are encouraged to contact Stephen on 021 076 4421 or stephen@mariposaconsulting.co.nz to arrange a meeting or get further information.
Initial findings will be reported back to a Swanson business focus group to seek feedback on potential actions. Following this, a report will be produced.
Participating businesses will receive a copy of the final project report. Any information businesses provide will be kept confidential and specific comments will not be attributed to particular business or individuals in the project report.
