How the City Rail Link will transform Auckland

As well as providing many obvious transport benefits, the City Rail Link will kick start major developments around the Auckland city centre. 

The City Rail Link (CRL) is the top transport priority for Auckland.

City Rail Link benefits

The CRL will:

  • double the efficiency of the entire rail network
  • allow more frequent trains with more direct services to the city centre
  • allow 30,000 people an hour to travel during peak times
  • provide better integration across all transport types
  • help create more shared spaces and a more people-friendly city.
