Glen Eden’s new Park and Ride now open

Glen Eden’s new $1.1m Park and Ride has opened on Waikumete Road, opposite the gates to Waikumete Cemetery.

On Friday 14 October, the existing Park and Ride at the intersection of West Coast Road and Glen View Road will close, as the lease has expired.

Improved facilities

The new Park and Ride is the same size as its predecessor, with 80 spaces. However, there are other improvements.

Stormwater drainage has been installed, and it is fenced. It has LED lighting, CCTV cameras and a security communication system to enable users to summon help in an emergency.

New road signage has been installed to direct drivers to the new location.

Better disabled access

To assist people with disabilities, all disability parking for the station will now be conveniently located in the carpark at the front of the station itself, accessed off West Coast Road.

This Park and Ride is free to use. For more about Park and Ride facilities visit Auckland Transport.
