A report by the Auditor-General into aspects of Auckland Council’s management and governance of the Westgate/Massey North town centre project has been welcomed by the council.
Director Legal and Risk Katherine Anderson says Auckland Council accepts the conclusions and recommendations contained in the report.
Ms Anderson says the council has been working with the Office of the Auditor-General on its inquiry for some time and as a result has decided to release a redacted version of a Meredith Connell report on the project commissioned by the council in 2012.
The council is unable to comment on references in the Auditor-General’s report on the actions of either the former Waitakere City Council or the Auckland Transition Authority.
