The recently upgraded Stanmore Bay Pool and Leisure Centre will celebrate with the public on Saturday 25 March with a fun-filled family open day.
Hibiscus and Bays Local Board Deputy Chairperson Janet Fitzgerald says the redevelopment of the leisure centre aims to encourage healthier and more active lifestyles and also meet the needs of the coast’s growing population.
“The open day is a great opportunity to enjoy and experience all that the leisure centre has to offer the community. The local board hopes that this upgrade will make it easier and even more fun for everyone who wants to get active and stay active,” she says.
Auckland Council Senior Centre Manager Matthew Burden says the upgrade has been popular with the community.
“We’ve had great feedback about the centre upgrade and people are already enjoying the new gym equipment, taking part in the fitness classes and using the new spa and sauna facilities,” he says.
What’s new?
Improvements include an upgraded state-of-the-art fitness centre, new adult spa and sauna and a Kauri Kids childcare centre offering affordable, flexible childcare for young Aucklanders.
Open Day
Come down and see the improvements for yourself on Saturday 25 March, 9am-4pm. There will be group fitness class tasters including the launch of Les Mills GRIT, pool inflatables for the kids, free health checks, site tours and much more.
