A new Kauri Kids offering quality early childhood education and care opens tomorrow 7 March as part of the upgrades to Stanmore Bay Pool and Leisure Centre.
The 11th Kauri Kids in Auckland Council’s network will provide affordable, flexible and nurturing childcare for young Aucklanders.
Kauri Kids Stanmore Bay Head Teacher Jodie Dennison says the centre will provide quality learning for children under five and gives parents the peace of mind to be able to take some time for themselves at the leisure centre’s fitness facilities.
“We are a small centre that looks after the full-time, part-time and casual needs of children aged 0-5 years in our local community. We offer casual spaces for parents wanting to fit in a workout at the leisure centre, which is something that sets us apart from most childcare centres and gyms."
Hibiscus and Bays Local Board Deputy Chairperson Janet Fitzgerald says that opening Kauri Kids at the leisure centre provides coast families with a childcare option that fits well with the many activities on offer at the recently upgraded leisure centre.
“With our growing population there is always a demand for quality childcare services that are conveniently located and easy for busy families to access.
“We’ve had great feedback about the recent centre upgrade. People are enjoying exercising, taking part in the classes and using the new spa and sauna facilities. The addition of Kauri Kids gives parents of pre-schoolers another option when looking for a safe and stimulating learning environment for their children,” she says.
The new Kauri Kids will be staffed by a fully qualified, committed and caring team of early childhood educators, whose philosophy is underpinned by the belief that active minds and active bodies help to grow confident, resilient and happy children.
