Panmure Wharf is a popular place for fishing and other recreational activities, and provides an important link to the shoreline.
Unfortunately, it is in poor condition and significant parts of its structure have deteriorated beyond repair.
Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board is consulting with stakeholders on options for renewing the wharf. These stakeholders include leaseholders at Panmure Wharf Reserve, the Tāmaki Estuary Protection Society, the Panmure Historical Society, Panmure Community Action Group, the Panmure East Residents’ Association and mana whenua.
Once consultations are complete, options for a renewed structure will be drafted, and feedback will be sought from the community later this month.
The local board will consider the final options for the redesign in May, and choose the preferred design.
Email maungakiekie.tamakiboard@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz if you would like to be included in the consultation or if you have any issues or concerns.
