It’s something you might walk past at first if you’re rushing to or from Wynyard Quarter – but stop and take a closer look and you’ll find a special little library housed in a simple container by Te Wero Bridge.
The pop-up library was put together by Panuku Development Auckland (formerly Waterfront Auckland), with donated plants and furniture creating a cosy living-room feel, and books donated from Auckland Libraries offering hours of learning and entertainment for bookworms and browsers.
It’s a wonderful place to stop with friends or whānau, letting you relax and read a story together while enjoying a view of the water. You can also rotate your own personal book collection here, with a ‘take one, leave one’ swap system.
