Auckland mayor urges action on climate change

Auckland Mayor Phil Goff has joined mayors from around the world and signed a letter to the G20 Heads of State urging them to deliver on their commitments to tackle climate change.

The letter calls for urgent reforms in energy, transport, food and waste and other areas to help mitigate the effects of climate change and realise the ambitions of the Paris Climate Agreement.

“As C40 mayors we will continue to lead on climate action in the most important cities of the world, standing for our people, the planet and global prosperity,” the letter continues.

Signatories to the letter include the mayors of Paris, Sydney, Melbourne, Milan and Vancouver.
