Thanks for your feedback

Consultation on Auckland Council’s 21 draft local board plans closed on Friday 30 June, and community feedback will now be taken into account before the plans are finalised.

“A big thank you goes to those of you who told your local board what you thought of the draft plan for your area, and shared your vision for the future of your local community,” says Auckland Council’s General Manager of Local Board Services, Karen Lyons.

Board members are currently looking at your suggestions and ideas, and considering your feedback before adopting the final local board plans.

“It was really important that we heard from Aucklanders about the draft plans so local boards know if their priorities reflect what Aucklanders want, and they can focus on delivering the projects that matter the most,” says Ms Lyons.

Next steps

  • Feedback will be considered by all boards during July and August
  • Final plans will be adopted by the end of October 2017

What are local board plans?

Developed every three years, local board plans set the direction and the priorities local boards will focus on. The plans cover everything from local parks and playgrounds to sports facilities, town centre development, protecting the environment, community events and more.

Local board plans also influence how local boards provide input into Auckland Council’s regional strategies and plans, such as the 10-year budget, and the way in which local boards work with other organisations for the benefit of local communities.
