The Safari Multicultural playgroup was launched on Wednesday at the Panmure Community Hall.
The playgroup provides a multicultural learning environment for migrant and resettled families in the Tāmaki community. Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board is proud to support the playgroup because it is a way to connect communities, contribute to social cohesion, value diversity and activate community spaces.
“Tāmaki has a very multicultural mix with, residents from more than 17 different countries living in our community," said Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board Chair Josephine Bartley.
"It is great to see children and their parents come together and have fun while learning and playing together".
The playgroup meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 9.30am – 12.30pm at the Panmure Community Hall.
