The Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board have celebrated the official opening of the Jellicoe Park playground to the delight of local children.
An additional play space to cater for children under five years old was added to the playground late November following feedback received from parents and children who visit the playground regularly.
“The Jellicoe Park playground has evolved to become a great place for children of all ages to play and families to meet up and socialise,” said Debbie Burrows, Deputy Chair Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board.
"Local children told us what they would like in the play space and I think we have done well to meet their wishes.”
“It is really encouraging to see venues like the Jellicoe Park playground develop from community input."
