Boggust Park is set for a massive redevelopment that is aimed at making the area safer and attracting a wider range of visitors.
Māngere-Ōtahuhu Local Board recently approved the concept plan for the project, which outlines several new amenities and improvements to the park’s facilities.
Stage one of the development outlines a new toilet, playground, circuit footpath, fitness equipment and new planting, with construction expected to begin in the new year.
Murals of kowhai flowers and tui will adorn the new toilet block.
The new playground will feature some of the latest designs in child play equipment, ensuring it will be a drawcard for families all around the suburb.
Local board chair Lemauga Lydia Sosene says work on the park is well overdue and she’s happy the local community will finally get a park that will suit their needs.
