Waitematā Local Board has entered an arts partnership with The Auckland Performing Arts Centre (TAPAC) and has approved a funding contribution to the organisation’s operational costs.
Deputy chair Shale Chambers says the board is delighted to partner with TAPAC in what is the board’s first arts partnership.
“We’ve been really impressed with the work TAPAC has been doing. They’ve achieved exceptional growth over the past two years with a diverse range of programmes and this past year they’ve reached an audience of close to 200,000.”
“TAPAC has proved to be a destination for the wider arts community, a platform for emerging performers and we’re absolutely thrilled to support them to keep doing what they’re so exceptional at,” he says.
TAPAC Executive Director Sally-Anne Kerr says the partnership is a critical step in helping the organisation to achieve greater sustainability.
“We’re delighted and honoured to be an arts partner with Waitematā Local Board. As a result, we’re better placed to provide our professional facilities, deliver our performing arts programmes and build the industry,” she says.
