Chris Makoare has today stepped into the role of Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board Chair, replacing Debbie Burrows, who has been in the role following Josephine Bartley’s move to councillor for the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Ward. Debbie will now move into the deputy chair role.
“I am looking forward to the challenge of stepping into the role of chair,” said Chris Makoare.
“We have a number of local board outcomes as well as new and exciting opportunities ahead that will need good community engagement and involvement. I’m committed to working closely with the rest of the board on making the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki area a better community for all.”
