Ōrākei Local Board has received a 100 per cent result following an audit of Auckland Council’s mowing and garden maintenance contractors Ventia.

Of the 130 plus parks and reserves in the Ōrākei Local Board area, the performance and satisfaction ratings have improved significantly from late 2017.

“Parks and reserves are a key priority for Ōrākei Local Board,” says Kit Parkinson, Ōrākei Local Board deputy chair.

“To receive a 100 per cent result on a recent audit is great news and now we need to ensure this is maintained.”

“Our local parks cater for sports, passive and play activities. Where some local boards chose to commit funding into other projects, Ōrākei Local Board has consulted with local residents and has committed to spending extra budget on making these fit for purpose,” he said.

Ōrākei Local Board is scheduled to begin consultation on their Open Space Network Plan later in 2018.
