Auckland Council’s Safeswim water-monitoring programme is a finalist in the Smart Water category of the Smart City Asia Pacific Awards, alongside initiatives from Hong Kong, Australia and South Korea.
The Smart City awards recognise urban innovation that uses technology and data to produce positive environmental, financial, and social outcomes.
The council, with Safeswim partners Watercare, Surf Life Saving Northern Region and the Auckland Regional Public Health Service have been nominated for the award.
Public voting for the awards is open now and closes on 31 May.
