Meet some of the adorable adoptables available at Auckland’s main animal shelters.
Max
Breed: Ridgeback X
Age: 2 years
Gender: Male
Shelter: Silverdale
Meet me: While I love learning about dog life at the Silverdale shelter, it’s time for me to find a best friend to bond with. I’m still quite young, and I’d love a gentle, experienced and patient owner who can handle my big size.
What about you? I need a high amount of exercise, but not a lot of grooming! I love other dogs, so it’d be great if you had another four-legged member of the family. If you have small children under 10, I’m not the one for you.
Ash
Breed: Heeler X
Age: 8 months
Gender: Female
Shelter: Silverdale
Meet me: I’m a clever girl (I already know how to sit and wait for treats!), and my love of food and toys will make further training easier. I would love another dog friend to run around with, trips to the beach and park or even some time at doggy daycare.
What about you? I’m a playful girl, so I need an active family who is ready to give me the mental stimulation I need. Due to my energetic puppy nature, I’m better with kids older than 10 years and confident cats. Your property will need high fencing or a suitable containment area.
Solo
Breed: Collie X
Age: 6 months
Gender: Male
Shelter: Henderson
Meet me: I’m a gentle natured young boy who loves cuddles from my human friends. I’m learning how to play with toys but I’m an expert in all things food and love people, so training will be easy!
What about you? I’m fine with confident cats and older children. I like to please, and just want a home with an owner who can continue to teach me about the world! I love being around other dogs, so a canine companion would be a bonus.
