Manurewa Local Board Chair Angela Dalton is leading the charge to keep Manurewa litter free and is calling upon others to do the same.
She kicked-off the Be a Tidy Kiwi campaign for Manurewa and shared her pledge video, further nominating Local Board member Sarah Colcord and Melissa Atama of Clendon Pride Project to accept the challenge.
The aim is to get as many people as possible to take the pledge and help keep their surroundings litter-free.
The campaign encourages people to take the pledge and follow it in their day to day life. Ms Dalton says it’s a great way to fight with the illegal rubbish dumping issues Manurewa has been facing.
“Manurewa Local Board has been advocating for a long time that there’s more that the council needs to do to fight with the rubbish dumping issue. But we all need to do our bit as well and make each other accountable.
“It’s about time that we as communities came together to fight this. We can do better than this.”
