West Auckland and Puketāpapa locals with great business ideas can now get practical tips and real-world mentoring from the PopUp Business School Aotearoa.
Over the years this social enterprise has helped more than 500 people around New Zealand get on their feet and turn their passion into an income, including courses in Henderson-Massey and Manukau in 2018 and on the North Shore in 2019.
Haz Kake, PopUp Business School Manukau participant, says the PopUp Business School helped him with the motivation to build his business, and that he achieved more with the support of mentors during the two-week course than he did in 12 months on his own.
PopUp Business School Aotearoa founder Tony Henderson-Newport says it is inspiring to see the transformation of attendees as their businesses come to life.
“Participants have formed businesses as diverse as adventure tourism hubs, business consulting services, online sustainable clothing retailers and family photographers. It has been incredible to see these business dreams become reality.”
Over 10 days people will learn:
- How to start a business with no money
- How to build a website for free
- How to make their business more sustainable.
The PopUp Business School west Auckland is a collaboration between Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED), the Puketāpapa, Whau and Henderson-Massey local boards, and the Ministry of Social Development.
