Auckland Transport is asking the Manurewa community for feedback on a project to make streets safer.
Manurewa Local Board and AT are planning improvements in the area contained within Russell Road, Brown Road, Roscommon Road and Weymouth Road.
The proposal includes reducing vehicle speeds by installing speed humps, raised tables and zebra crossings, to make it safer for people walking and cycling. Manurewa Local Board is contributing funding for the project.

"Manurewa Local Board has heard the residents' requests to take action around road safety in the area and is proud to be a key supporter and funder of this project of works," says Manurewa Local Board Chair Angela Dalton.
Manurewa is a priority area for road safety improvements. As well as the area chosen being close to schools, community centres and shops, in the past five years there have been 213 recorded crashes in the suburb.
"These measures will help to create a slower speed environment, reducing the risks of accidents, and make the streets safer for our community," says Ken Penney, Manurewa Local Board transport lead.
AT's Group Manager Network Management, Randhir Karma, says improving road safety and is AT's top priority.
"We want people to be able to walk around their communities safely and this project is one of the many road safety initiatives underway to improve this. We are working to create a safe road system and healthier streets, where all road users have good access within their communities.
"We encourage residents to give use their feedback on the proposals."
The project is partly funded by the Regional Fuel Tax and is part of a $700 million investment to improve road safety in 10 years.
