Community groups in the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board area have received $635,000 in grants since July.

Board chair Julia Parfitt says grants encourage collaboration and a sense of community.

“Our grants programme makes a huge difference in our community. It can be a catalyst that enables individuals and groups to work together and then use the grant to obtain the rest of the funds and resources they need to deliver a programme."

“We welcome applications that align with place-shaping community spaces; participating in sport, recreation or inter-generational activities; delivering youth activities such as leadership and training; showcasing local heritage and delivering environmental education and restoration projects.”

A full list of grant recipients for 2018/2019 can be found in the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board meeting minutes from August, October, November 2018 and May 2019.
