Matariki on the Move: Waiata

Enjoy an afternoon of laid-back jazz, te reo and dynamic vocals with two powerhouse wāhine, sharing their exceptional vocal talents.
Featuring Whirimako Black, a veteran of eight solo albums and champion of te reo Māori; and Kaaterama Pou – singer, performer, brass player and star on the Māori music scene.
Toi Toi Music Presents Te Māra o Te Pō

Te Māra o te Pō is a series of four live music events featuring Māori performing artists: rock and te reo fusion Kiko; singer-songwriter Cedric Richards McCord; Allana Goldsmith Group and WAI.TAI, a combination of world music and Māori rhythm.
Matariki Stage at Te Oro

Te Oro opens its doors for eight nights to celebrate the rising of the Matariki star cluster. The whare will be lit up to acknowledge the dawn of a new year and will welcome visitors for performances each night.
Enjoy entertainment from up-and-coming local talent, alongside emerging stars from across Tāmaki. Bring your whānau and friends and welcome the new year with creativity, light and laughter.
Te Korakora on Federal

Enjoy a night out with friends and whānau at Te Korakora on Federal, an urban street party where you can experience the vibrant sights and sounds of te ao Māori on Federal Street.
Come together for a unique evening of culture in the city, as the 2019 Matariki Festival comes to an end. Dance the night away under the Matariki stars while enjoying a stellar line-up of musical talent and entertainment. Te Korakora on Federal is proudly supported by SKYCITY and part of Elemental AKL.
Waiata Taketake — Indigenous Music

In what promises to be a memorable end to Matariki celebrations at Arataki Visitor Centre, these two exceptional artists will share their music surrounded by the majestic Waitākere Ranges. Experience the rare talent of Sherydon Ngaropo Te Tai (Te Rarawa, Ngāti Porou) and Ed Waaka (Te Rarawa, Te Aupouri, Ngāti Pahauwera).
