Manurewa Local Board has approved funding to enable the installation of traffic lights for the Claude Road and Alfriston Road intersection.
The intersection has been termed as hazardous by many and installing traffic lights will ensure safety for the motorists and a balanced approach to traffic flow in and out of Claude Road.
The board approved $1M in funding from the Community Safety Fund, which will ensure that installation is prioritised by Auckland Transport.
Auckland Transport will be conducting traffic modelling before moving to detail design and consultation with adjacent property owners and the wider public.
