An upgrade of the car park at the Mt Albert War Memorial park will make for an improved experience for drivers.
The upgrades will provide better flow in and out of the main car park, better accessibility, and clearly designated spaces for parents parking with young children. Additionally, the car park will get a new asphalt surface and a better pedestrian management plan.
“People will have a better and more convenient parking experience with parking spaces for different needs clearly marked,” says Ahsan Kamal, project manager, Auckland Council.
Albert-Eden Local Board approved funding from the local board’s 2019/20 renewal capital expenditure budget and brought forward additional funding from its 2020/21 renewals capital expenditure budget to complete the physical works stage for the Mt Albert War Memorial Park car park in its last business meeting.
Work is expected to begin at the end of the year.
