The Swimming Hole Walkway in Paremoremo Scenic Reserve has been improved and reopened to the public.
Around 600 metres of walkway has been resurfaced and improved with new timber box steps, culverts and drainage. A new entrance sign off Brookdale Road will also be installed shortly.
The track upgrade work addressed some boggy problem areas and some steep and uneven steps.
A realignment of the track in some sections has been undertaken to reduce these issues and provide an improved walking experience in all conditions.
These improvements were funded by Upper Harbour Local Board as well as funding from Auckland Council’s recently introduced Kauri Die Back targeted rate.
