Albert-Eden Schools Cultural Festival is a highlight of the year not only for the parents but for the entire community to celebrate and enjoy a fun event with the whole family.
24 schools are participating in the festival this year and approximately 8000 people are expected to attend the event at Albert-Eden’s Rocket Park. The day is funded by Albert-Eden Local Board.
There will be two stages with back-to-back performances of Kapahaka, Pasifika dancing and drumming, Scottish Highland dancing, Bollywood dancing, and even a K-Pop group.
Activities such as a Bike Track hosted by Auckland Transport, the Auckland Libraries Bus, giant Jenga, a bouncy castle, and a building activity hosted by YMCA Camps will keep the whole family entertained. There will also be food trucks featuring international cuisine and bake sales hosted by schools and community groups.
“This is an exciting annual event for everyone involved, and we’re looking forward to welcoming the community for a day of culture, food and fun,” says Debra Bellon, Community Development Manager at the Mt Albert Community and Leisure Centre and the co-ordinator for the event.
