The Mayor were sworn into office by Chief Executive Stephen Town, followed by the councillors, in alphabetical order.
Performances by the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, Drums of the Pacific, the Chinese Blossom Art Troupe, Auckland City Scoundrels and Sistema Aotearoa featured during the evening.
The evening was MC’d by Eddie Tuiavii and the organist was Dr Indra Hughes.
