Being back at the office can be hard, particularly when you look out the window and see a great summer’s day.
You are stuck in the office while others are still on holiday enjoying the sun.
But never fear - it is possible to make summer last longer even while being back at work.
One way to create your own endless summer is to plan last-minute trips away a little closer to home. And with Waitangi Day nearing, now's the time to find a bach or a camping spot to head away to.
Take a break
Auckland Council has a number of options in both baches and camping spots meaning it's possible to leave straight from work and be enjoying the summer sun by dinner time.
You could even book a week away and commute into work from your bach - stretching out the summer and helping you to explore our beautiful region and discover a few gems in your downtime.
You can also find some great places to stay in the week, great for when your weekends are busy or you favourite spot is booked up. There are plenty of holiday places around with WiFi too - great for working while you're away or taking a work retreat.
Options for a midweek retreat include Kaipātiki Tiny Home, Tapapakanga Bach, Piwakawaka Eco-Glamping, Kaipatiki Bach, Te Kuiti Cottage and the Craw Homestead.
To find your midweek get-away go to Auckland Council's Accommodation in Parks page.
