Albert-Eden Local Board is currently drafting its three-year Local Board Plan and is making it easy for locals to actively contribute their thoughts and feedback on how they would like to see their local area grow and evolve in the future.
A range of events has been planned to make it easier for people to discuss their ideas with elected board members and Auckland Council staff in person.
“We know there is major change coming to Albert-Eden, from housing intensification to climate change,” says Margi Watson, chair of Albert-Eden Local Board.
"So, we need community input into what our plan so we can provide facilities, programmes and services that will meet the community’s needs.
“Our priorities will be focused on our community and the environment that we will live in. I encourage everyone to provide their feedback on our plan so we get it right, for today and tomorrow.”
Local board plans are strategic, three-year plans that are developed in consultation with the community. The local board is responsible for making decisions on local issues, activities and services. Members of the board also advocate on behalf of the local community.
During this consultation period, everyone is welcome to bring their questions, feedback and comments on Auckland Council’s Annual Budget, the review of Council Controlled Organisations, and local board plans.
Additionally, if people can’t go to an event, they can also contribute feedback online until 28 March.
