Over the past few weeks, we've been asking Aucklanders for feedback on the council's Emergency Budget with one simple but clear message in mind - together we can recover stronger.
Mayor Phil Goff says one of the ways we can achieve that goal and give our communities a boost is by supporting local.
“The impacts of COVID-19 across Auckland are still to be fully realised, but every household and business has been affected to some degree. As part of our region’s recovery, we’re asking Aucklanders to support local by becoming a champion for our great local businesses,” he says.
Local business champions
To unite in Auckland’s economic recovery, all Aucklanders are being encouraged to become social media champions for our region’s great local businesses.
Auckland Council is asking people to give a shout out to their favourite local business by ‘checking-in’ or ‘tagging’ them on social and using the hashtag #togetherwecansupportlocal.
From the corner shop to the best coffee, or where to get a good haircut – it’s all about spreading the word to support and promote local business.
Keep an eye out on the council’s social pages during the next few weeks and love your local business by getting involved.
