People living in East Coast Bays and the Hibiscus Coast are being urged to help shape their community’s future.
The Hibiscus and Bays Local Board Plan which guides what the local board does over the next three years, is now open for feedback. Board members want to hear if they have got the plan right.
Chair Gary Brown says the plan becomes even more important as communities begin the recovery phase from the impact of COVID-19.
“Our area is known for spectacular beaches, parks and reserves, and we embrace that lifestyle.
“Tough times call for priorities that are clear, focussed and achievable. We know that wellbeing, resilience, protecting the environment and economic recovery is important. We believe the plan delivers on these.
“As we grapple with limited funds and resources to deliver projects, together we must focus on what will get us the best results.
“Now, we need to hear from you. Have we got this plan right, and do you agree with what must get done and when?
“Talk to your local board members and tell us if we have got it right,” he says.
Feedback on the draft Hibiscus and Bays Local Board Plan 2020 closes at 4pm on Thursday, 13 August.
