Tāmaki Makaurau and the whole of Aotearoa New Zealand is now under the Red setting of the COVID-19 Protection Framework’s traffic light system.
Red is not lockdown. The government’s goal at Red is to slow the spread of Omicron.
Businesses stay open and you can do most of things that you normally do, including visiting family and friends and travelling around the country. There are no regional boundaries.
Here’s what you can do:
- Get a booster dose if you’re over 18 and it has been 4 months since your last dose.
- Wear a face covering whenever you leave the house.
- Keep physically distanced where possible.
- If you have cold or flu symptoms, isolate immediately, and call Healthline for advice about a test.
More information on life at Red is on the government’s website.
