The inaugural meeting of Auckland Council’s Governing Body for the 2022-25 electoral term was held on Friday 28 October at Auckland Town Hall.

This is the first official meeting of this Governing Body and the inauguration part of proceedings is largely ceremonial. It was webcast on Auckland Council’s website and is available on-demand.

The Mayor was sworn into office by Chief Executive Jim Stabback, followed by the Councillors.

Performances by Tone 6, Anuanua Dance Troupe, The Garagewalas and Kumo Taiko Drummers featured during the evening.

The evening was MC’d by Stacey Morrison.
