The much-loved Music and Movies in Parks returns for another blockbuster season with a line-up including supergroup Hedlok featuring Che Fu and King Kapisi, and a screening of 2023’s biggest film – Barbie!

There’s a summer of fun on offer with beachside concerts and movies with BYO bean bags to keep the whole whānau entertained.

Hedlok

Music in Parks is a fun and free way to see great local acts in some of Auckland’s most scenic settings!

With many of this year’s concerts being held beachside, gig-goers can check out great live music with the sand between their toes.

Some of the most exciting beach-side gigs include supergroup Hedlok, compromised of Che Fu and King Kapisi, headlining at Mission Bay; Sola Rosa Sound System bringing the good vibes to Milford Beach; and New Zealand rock and roll royalty Ekko Park will get the crowd going at Onetangi Beach on Waiheke Island.

Music in Parks series welcomes a new location for 2024 with two concerts taking place at the hugely popular Ōtara Markets in partnership with Ōtara Music and Arts Centre (OMAC). Featuring a line-up of celebrated Stand Up Stand Out (SUSO) finalists, you can check out the talent and do your shop at the same time!

Elsewhere, the perennial favourite Opera in the Park returns with two concerts – partnering with NZ Opera. Bring your picnic rug and something warm to settle in for two hours of operatic sounds at St Heliers or Ambury Farm.

Jazz at the Rotunda makes a welcome return to the rotunda in Auckland Domain, featuring multi-talented musician Julien Dyne, supported by The Turing Project and Blue Honey.

And finally, don’t miss the chance to see a Kiwi legend with NZ soul icon Annie Crummer and her band, the AutoMatic80s at Pakuranga’s Lloyd Elsmore Park as they deliver hits from the unforgettable 80s, with further support from nine-piece band Banana Mundo.

This season of Movies in Parks has eight sensational screenings held across Tāmaki Makaurau with films including Barbie, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Encanto.
