Grants of up to $3,000 are up for grabs to help the community deliver positive outcomes for the local area.
Waitematā Local Board’s 2023/2024 Quick Response Grant round two is now open for funding applications, and people or groups are being encouraged to apply.
Local board chair Genevieve Sage says: “We want to spread the word to all of our fantastic community groups and organisations that these grants are available for them to apply for. If their project or initiative meets any of our funding outcomes then we are keen for them to check the eligibility criteria and submit an application.”
The grants will support programmes or projects that meet one or more of the board’s outcomes:
-
Inclusive communities that are vibrant, healthy and connected.
-
Attractive and versatile public places that meet our communities’ needs.
-
The natural environment is valued, protected and enhanced.
-
A high-quality, built environment that embraces our heritage.
-
An accessible, connected and safe transport network with well-designed streets.
-
An innovative, productive and resilient local economy.
Genevieve says activities that will be considered as higher priority by the board include those that address inequality, climate change or sustainable solutions for homelessness.
“In addition to this, we want to focus on funding projects that empower women and girls, support community action for environmental issues, and increase waste minimisation," Genevieve adds.
Quick response grants are $300 - $3,000 and are offered up to twice a year.
Applications are now open, and close 17 May 2024. Applicants can apply here.
